Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) versions 10.5.1
Description:
A vulnerability in the FTP server could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to log in without a valid password, provided they have a valid username. This is due to incorrect FTP user credential validation. An attacker could exploit this by connecting to the management IP address of the targeted device using FTP. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to log in to the FTP server without a valid password. The device is only vulnerable if FTP is enabled on the management interface.
Recommendations:
For Cisco Web Security Appliance (WSA) version 10.5.1, consider disabling FTP on the management interface until a fix is available.
