Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Cisco 550X Series Stackable Managed Switches (affected versions not specified)
Description:
A vulnerability in the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) subsystem communication channel could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to cause the device to reload unexpectedly, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition. The device may need to be manually reloaded to recover. This issue is due to a lack of proper input throttling of ingress SNMP traffic over an internal interface. An attacker could exploit this by sending a crafted, heavy stream of SNMP traffic to the targeted device, causing it to reload unexpectedly and resulting in a DoS condition.
Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
