Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) for Endpoints macOS Connector (affected versions not specified)
Description:
A vulnerability in the file type detection mechanism could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass malware detection. The issue occurs because the software relies solely on the file extension for detecting DMG files. An attacker could exploit this by sending a DMG file with a nonstandard extension to a device running the affected software, potentially bypassing configured malware detection.
Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
