Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Battelle V2I Hub version 2.5.1
Description
The issue allows a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions. This is caused by the direct checking of the API key against a user-supplied value in PHP's GET global variable array using PHP's strcmp() function. An attacker could exploit this by adding "[]" to the end of "key" in the URL when accessing API functions, allowing them to execute API functions.
Recommendations
For Battelle V2I Hub version 2.5.1, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to API functions until a patch is available. Avoid using the
key variable in API requests until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. Found an issue in the description? Have something to add? Feel free to write us 👾
