CVE-2018-20679

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: BusyBox versions prior to 1.30.0
Description: An issue in the udhcp components of BusyBox allows a remote attacker to leak sensitive information from the stack by sending a crafted DHCP message. This is due to an out of bounds read related to verification in udhcp get option() in networking/udhcp/common.c that 4-byte options are indeed 4 bytes.
Recommendations: For versions prior to 1.30.0, update to version 1.30.0 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the DHCP server, client, and relay to minimize the risk of exploitation.
