CVE-2019-18224

CVSS v2.0

10

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions libidn2 versions prior to 2.1.1
Description The issue is related to a heap-based buffer overflow error in the idn2 to ascii 4i() function of the GNU libidn2 library for internationalized domain names (IDN). This error can be exploited by a remote attacker to access confidential data, compromise data integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.1.1, update to version 2.1.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the idn2 to ascii 4i() function in the libidn2 library until a patch is available.
