CVSS v3.1
9.8
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Apache Tapestry (affected versions not specified)
Description:
Manipulating classpath asset file URLs allows an attacker to guess the path to a known file in the classpath and have it downloaded. If the attacker finds the file containing the value of the
tapestry.hmac-passphrase configuration symbol, likely the webapp's AppModule class, this value can be used to craft a Java deserialization attack. This enables the execution of malicious injected Java code. The attack vector is the t:formdata parameter from the Form component.Recommendations:
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
