CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: slixmpp versions prior to 1.4.2
Description: The issue is related to an incorrect Access Control vulnerability in the XEP-0223 plugin, specifically in the options profile used for configuring the default access model. This can result in all contacts of the victim being able to see private data published to a PEP node, if the node isn't configured to be private. The vulnerability can be exploited if the user publishes private data on PEP.
Recommendations: For slixmpp versions prior to 1.4.2, update to version 1.4.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider configuring PEP nodes to be private to minimize the risk of exploitation. Restrict publishing private data on PEP nodes until the issue is resolved.
