CVE-2019-1003051

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Jenkins IRC Plugin (affected versions not specified)
Description: The issue concerns the storage of credentials in an unencrypted manner within the global configuration file on the Jenkins master or controller. Specifically, credentials are stored in the hudson.plugins.ircbot.IrcPublisher.xml file. These credentials can be accessed by users who have permission to view the file system of the Jenkins controller.
Recommendations: For the Jenkins IRC Plugin, consider restricting access to the hudson.plugins.ircbot.IrcPublisher.xml file to minimize the risk of credential exposure until a proper fix is implemented. As a temporary workaround, limit user access to the Jenkins controller file system to reduce the potential for unauthorized credential viewing. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
