Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Jenkins Mattermost Notification Plugin versions 2.7.0 and earlier
Description
The issue allows stored webhook URLs containing a secret token to be viewed unencrypted in the global configuration file and job config.xml files on the Jenkins master. This can be accessed by users with Extended Read permission or those who have access to the master file system.
Recommendations
For Jenkins Mattermost Notification Plugin versions 2.7.0 and earlier, update the plugin to a version that properly encrypts or secures the webhook URLs and secret tokens. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Jenkins master file system and limiting Extended Read permissions to minimize the risk of exploitation.
