| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools versions 8.55 through 8.57
Description
The issue is related to inadequate access control in the PIA Search component of Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected data using the HTTP protocol. Successful attacks may require human interaction and can significantly impact additional products, resulting in unauthorized access to update, insert, or delete data, as well as read access to a subset of accessible data.
Recommendations
For versions 8.55 through 8.57, consider restricting access to the PIA Search component to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the use of HTTP protocol for sensitive data transmission. Additionally, ensure that all users are aware of the potential risks and take necessary precautions to avoid falling victim to social engineering attacks that may be used in conjunction with this exploit.
