Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
PeopleSoft Enterprise CC Common Application Objects version 9.2
Description
The issue is related to inadequate access control in the PeopleSoft Enterprise CC Common Application Objects component, specifically in the Form and Approval Builder subcomponent. This easily exploitable flaw allows a low-privileged attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise the component. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and may significantly impact additional products. The vulnerability can result in unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some accessible data, as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of accessible data.
Recommendations
For version 9.2, refer to the MOS Note Doc ID 2493366.1 for patch information to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Form and Approval Builder subcomponent until a patch is applied. Additionally, limiting the use of HTTP protocol for sensitive operations may help minimize the risk of exploitation.
