CVE-2019-2539

CVSS v3.1

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle MySQL Server versions 8.0.13 and prior
Description The issue is related to inadequate access control in the Server: Connection component of Oracle MySQL Server. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service. The vulnerability allows a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the MySQL Server, resulting in the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the server.
Recommendations For versions 8.0.13 and prior, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation. Restrict access to the Server: Connection component to prevent unauthorized access until a patch is available.
