VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.7.24 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.13 and prior
Description The vulnerability in the MySQL Server component of Oracle MySQL is related to insufficient access control in the Server: Partition subcomponent. This issue can be exploited by a remote attacker with high privileges and network access via multiple protocols, allowing them to compromise the MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in the unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete Denial of Service) of the MySQL Server.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 5.7.24 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.24 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server versions 8.0.13 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.13 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
