CVE-2019-14318

CVSS v3.1

5.9

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Crypto++ versions 8.3.0 and earlier
Description The issue is a timing side channel in ECDSA signature generation, allowing a local or remote attacker to compute the private key used by measuring the duration of hundreds to thousands of signing operations. This occurs due to non-constant time scalar multiplication in ecp.cpp and algebra.cpp, which leaks information such as the bit length of the scalar.
Recommendations For Crypto++ versions 8.3.0 and earlier, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
