Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Cisco HyperFlex software versions prior to 3.5(2a)
Description
The issue is related to insufficient authorization controls in the Graphite interface, allowing an authenticated, local attacker to write arbitrary data. This can be exploited by connecting to the Graphite service and sending arbitrary data, potentially resulting in invalid statistics being presented in the interface.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 3.5(2a), update to version 3.5(2a) or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Graphite interface to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
Incorrect Authorization
Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity
