CVE-2019-17145

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Foxit PhantomPDF version 9.6.0.25114
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the conversion of DXF files to PDF, resulting from the lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Foxit PhantomPDF version 9.6.0.25114, consider disabling the DXF to PDF conversion feature until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to malicious files and websites to minimize the risk of remote code execution. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
