CVE-2018-14718

CVSS v2.0

10

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions FasterXML jackson-databind versions 2.x before 2.9.7 FasterXML jackson-databind version 2.8.11.3 and earlier FasterXML jackson-databind version 2.7.9.5 and earlier FasterXML jackson-databind version 2.6.7.3 and earlier
Description The issue is caused by the failure to block the slf4j-ext class from polymorphic deserialization, which may allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations For FasterXML jackson-databind versions 2.x before 2.9.7, update to version 2.9.7 or later. For FasterXML jackson-databind version 2.8.11.3 and earlier, update to version 2.8.11.3 or later. For FasterXML jackson-databind version 2.7.9.5 and earlier, update to version 2.7.9.5 or later. For FasterXML jackson-databind version 2.6.7.3 and earlier, update to version 2.6.7.3 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider blocking the slf4j-ext class from polymorphic deserialization until a patch is available.
