CVE-2019-6293

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions flex version 2.6.4
Description The issue is caused by the mark beginning as normal function making recursive calls to itself in certain scenarios involving lots of '*' characters, leading to a stack exhaustion problem. Remote attackers could leverage this to cause a denial-of-service.
Recommendations For flex version 2.6.4, consider disabling the mark beginning as normal function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict input to minimize the risk of exploitation, especially when dealing with large numbers of '*' characters. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
