Description
This issue allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information. It requires user interaction, such as visiting a malicious page or opening a malicious file. The flaw exists within the handling of TIF files due to the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, resulting in a read past the end of an allocated structure. An attacker can leverage this issue to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations
For Foxit Studio Photo version 3.6.6, update to a version that fixes the issue with handling TIF files to prevent information disclosure. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the use of TIF files until a patch is available. Restrict access to untrusted files and websites to minimize the risk of exploitation.
