Description
The issue is related to a vulnerability in the Oracle Applications Framework component, specifically in the Attachments / File Upload subcomponent. This vulnerability can be easily exploited by an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP, allowing them to compromise Oracle Applications Framework. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and may significantly impact additional products. The vulnerability can result in unauthorized access to critical data, complete access to all Oracle Applications Framework accessible data, as well as unauthorized update, insert, or delete access to some of Oracle Applications Framework accessible data.
Recommendations
For versions 12.1.3, 12.2.3, 12.2.4, 12.2.5, 12.2.6, 12.2.7, 12.2.8, consider disabling the Attachments / File Upload feature until a patch is available to prevent exploitation.
Restrict access to the Oracle Applications Framework component to minimize the risk of unauthorized data access or modification.
Avoid using the HTTP protocol for sensitive operations until the issue is resolved.
