Description
The issue is related to the
xmlrpc decode() function in PHP, which contains an error that leads to reading memory outside of allocated areas. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to gain access to confidential data. The problem lies in the base64 decode xmlrpc function in ext/xmlrpc/libxmlrpc/base64.c, allowing a hostile XMLRPC server to cause PHP to read memory outside of allocated areas.Recommendations
For PHP versions prior to 5.6.40, update to version 5.6.40 or later.
For PHP versions 7.x prior to 7.1.26, update to version 7.1.26 or later.
For PHP versions 7.2.x prior to 7.2.14, update to version 7.2.14 or later.
For PHP versions 7.3.x prior to 7.3.1, update to version 7.3.1 or later.
