Description The issue is related to an Integer Overflow in the rdp in unistr() function, which leads to a Heap-Based Buffer Overflow, resulting in memory corruption and possibly even remote code execution. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations For rdesktop versions up to and including v1.8.3, consider updating to a version later than v1.8.3 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the rdp in unistr() function until a patch is available.
