CVSS v3.1
9.8
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
rdesktop versions up to and including v1.8.3
Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the
seamless process line() function of the rdesktop RDP client. This can lead to memory corruption and potentially allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.Recommendations
For rdesktop versions up to and including v1.8.3, consider disabling the
seamless process line() function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the RDP client to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
