CVE-2019-2617

CVSS v2.0

5.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 8.0.15 and prior
Description The issue is related to insufficient access control in the MySQL Server component, specifically in the Replication subcomponent. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service. The vulnerability allows a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the MySQL Server, resulting in the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of the server.
Recommendations For versions 8.0.15 and prior, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation. Restrict access to the Replication subcomponent to minimize the risk of exploitation until a patch is available.
