CVSS v3.1
10
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Motorola C1 version 1.01
Motorola M2 version 1.07
Description
A Command Injection issue allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code and gain a root shell. This occurs through a crafted /HNAP1 POST request, where the
tomography ping number field in the request body contains shell metacharacters, triggering the execution of arbitrary OS commands when the SetNetworkTomographySettings API function is called.Recommendations
For Motorola C1 version 1.01, avoid using the SetNetworkTomographySettings API function until a patch is available.
For Motorola M2 version 1.07, restrict access to the /HNAP1 POST request to minimize the risk of exploitation.
