CVSS v3.1
10
Critical
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Motorola C1 version 1.01
Motorola M2 version 1.07
Description
The issue is related to a Command Injection, allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code and gain a root shell. This occurs through a crafted /HNAP1 POST request, specifically when the SetSmartQoSSettings API function is triggered with untrusted input from the request body, such as shell metacharacters in the
smartqos priority devices field.Recommendations
For Motorola C1 version 1.01, consider disabling the SetSmartQoSSettings API function until a patch is available.
For Motorola M2 version 1.07, restrict access to the HNAP API to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
OS Command Injection
