Description
A vulnerability in the WebVPN login process could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause increased CPU utilization on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to excessive processing load for existing WebVPN login operations. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending multiple WebVPN login requests to the device, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition.
Recommendations
For Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software, consider restricting access to the WebVPN login process until a patch is available.
For Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software, consider disabling the WebVPN login functionality as a temporary workaround until a patch is available.
Avoid sending multiple WebVPN login requests to the device to minimize the risk of exploitation.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
