Description
The issue is related to improper directory permissions in the installer, which may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access. The vulnerability is associated with insufficient access restrictions, potentially allowing an attacker to elevate their privileges.
Recommendations
For Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software versions 20.100 and earlier, consider restricting access to the vulnerable installer until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, ensure that local access is limited to trusted users to minimize the risk of exploitation.
