CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ImageMagick version 7.0.8-50 Q16
Description The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the WritePNMImage function at coders/pnm.c, caused by off-by-one errors. This can be exploited by a remote attacker using a specially crafted image, potentially leading to denial of service or execution of arbitrary code.
Recommendations For ImageMagick version 7.0.8-50 Q16, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the WritePNMImage function until a patch is available. Restrict access to the coders/pnm.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
