CVE-2019-5858

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Google Chrome versions prior to 76.0.3809.87
Description The issue is related to errors in filtering parameters of the OpenURL service in Google Chrome, which can allow a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to the system. Additionally, there is an incorrect security UI in MacOS services integration that can allow a local attacker to execute arbitrary code via a crafted HTML page.
Recommendations For versions prior to 76.0.3809.87, update to version 76.0.3809.87 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the OpenURL service until a patch is available. Avoid using crafted HTML pages that could exploit the incorrect security UI in MacOS services integration.
