CVE-2019-15222

CVSS v2.0

4.9

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 5.2.8
Description The issue is related to a NULL pointer dereference in the sound/usb/helper.c (motu microbookii) driver of the Linux kernel. This can be caused by a malicious USB device. Exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 5.2.8, update to version 5.2.8 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the use of USB devices that may trigger this issue until a patch is applied. Restrict access to the sound/usb/helper.c driver to minimize the risk of exploitation.
