CVE-2019-15214

CVSS v2.0

6.9

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 5.0.10
Description The issue is related to a use-after-free in the sound subsystem of the Linux kernel. This occurs because card disconnection causes certain data structures to be deleted too early, which is associated with the sound/core/init.c and sound/core/info.c components. Exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 5.0.10, update to version 5.0.10 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the sound subsystem to minimize the risk of exploitation.
