CVE-2019-15211

CVSS v2.0

4.9

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 5.2.6
Description The issue is related to a use-after-free caused by a malicious USB device in the drivers/media/v4l2-core/v4l2-dev.c driver. This is due to improper memory allocation in drivers/media/radio/radio-raremono.c. The exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 5.2.6, update to version 5.2.6 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the use of malicious USB devices or restricting access to the vulnerable driver until a patch is applied. Avoid using the vulnerable v4l2-dev.c driver in the drivers/media/v4l2-core directory until the issue is resolved.
