| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Oracle Database Server versions 12.2.0.1 and 18c
Description
The issue is related to insufficient access control in the Core RDBMS component of Oracle Database Server. It can be exploited by a remote attacker to gain full control over the database server. The vulnerability can be easily exploited by a high-privileged attacker with DBFS ROLE privilege and network access via Oracle Net, potentially leading to a takeover of Core RDBMS. This may also impact additional products.
Recommendations
For version 12.2.0.1, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For version 18c, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Core RDBMS component until a patch is available.
Restrict network access via Oracle Net to minimize the risk of exploitation.
