Description The issue is related to a malicious DLL preload vulnerability and insufficient access control in the FortiClientOnlineInstaller.exe executable. This allows a privileged attacker to perform arbitrary code execution by forging a DLL file or using a specially crafted DLL file.
Recommendations For Fortinet FortiClient for Windows versions 6.2.0 and below, consider disabling the execution of the FortiClientOnlineInstaller.exe file until a patch is available. Restrict access to the FortiClient installation directory to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the FortiClientOnlineInstaller.exe file for installation until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
