VectorAV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.6.42 and prior MySQL Server versions 5.7.24 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.13 and prior
Description The issue is related to inadequate access control in the MySQL Server component, specifically in the Server: libmysqld subcomponent. It allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the MySQL Server, resulting in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all MySQL Server accessible data. The vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker to disclose protected information.
Recommendations For MySQL Server version 5.6.42 and prior, update to a version later than 5.6.42 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server version 5.7.24 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.24 to resolve the issue. For MySQL Server version 8.0.13 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.13 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
