| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Apache HTTP Server versions 2.4.20 through 2.4.39
Description
The issue is related to the implementation of the HTTP/2 protocol in the Apache HTTP Server, specifically with very early pushes, such as those configured with
H2PushResource. This can lead to an overwrite of memory in the pushing request's pool, resulting in crashes. The memory copied is that of the configured push link header values, not data supplied by the client. The vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.Recommendations
For versions 2.4.20 through 2.4.39, consider disabling the
H2PushResource configuration to prevent very early pushes until a patch is available. Restrict access to the HTTP/2 protocol to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
