CVE-2019-9936

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions SQLite version 3.27.2
Description The issue is related to a heap-based buffer over-read in the fts5HashEntrySort function in sqlite3.c, which may lead to an information leak. This occurs when running fts5 prefix queries inside a transaction. The problem is associated with a buffer over-read operation in memory, potentially allowing a remote attacker to disclose protected information.
Recommendations For SQLite version 3.27.2, consider avoiding the use of fts5 prefix queries inside transactions until a fix is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the execution of queries that may trigger the fts5HashEntrySort function to minimize the risk of information leakage. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
