CVE-2019-3005

CVSS v3.1

6.0

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle VM VirtualBox versions prior to 5.2.34 Oracle VM VirtualBox versions prior to 6.0.14
Description The issue is related to insufficient access control in the Core component of Oracle VM VirtualBox, which can be exploited to cause a denial of service. A high-privileged attacker with logon access to the infrastructure where Oracle VM VirtualBox executes can compromise Oracle VM VirtualBox, potentially impacting additional products. Successful attacks can result in the ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of Oracle VM VirtualBox.
Recommendations For versions prior to 5.2.34, update to version 5.2.34 or later. For versions prior to 6.0.14, update to version 6.0.14 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Core component of Oracle VM VirtualBox to minimize the risk of exploitation.
