| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Oracle MySQL Server versions 5.6.45 and prior
Oracle MySQL Server versions 5.7.27 and prior
Description
The issue is related to insufficient access control in the encryption component of Oracle MySQL Server, allowing an attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information via the MySQL Protocol. This vulnerability can be easily exploited by an unauthenticated attacker with network access through multiple protocols, potentially resulting in unauthorized read access to a subset of MySQL Server accessible data.
Recommendations
For versions 5.6.45 and prior, update to a version later than 5.6.45 to resolve the issue.
For versions 5.7.27 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.27 to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
