CVE-2019-2911

CVSS v3.1

7.2

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.6.45 and prior MySQL Server versions 5.7.27 and prior MySQL Server versions 8.0.17 and prior
Description The issue is related to insufficient access control in the Information Schema component of MySQL Server, allowing a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to protected information via the network MySQL protocol. This can result in unauthorized read access to a subset of MySQL Server accessible data. Successful attacks can also cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash of MySQL Server.
Recommendations For versions 5.6.45 and prior, update to a version later than 5.6.45 to resolve the issue. For versions 5.7.27 and prior, update to a version later than 5.7.27 to resolve the issue. For versions 8.0.17 and prior, update to a version later than 8.0.17 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
