CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 5.3.11
Description The issue is related to a memory leak in the mlx5 fpga conn create cq() function, which can lead to a denial of service due to memory consumption. This can be triggered by causing mlx5 vector2eqn() failures. The vulnerability allows remote attackers to exploit this weakness.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 5.3.11, update to version 5.3.11 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the mlx5 fpga conn create cq() function until a patch is available.
