CVE-2019-19052

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 5.3.11
Description The issue is related to a memory leak in the gs can open() function, located in the drivers/net/can/usb/gs usb.c file of the Linux kernel. This leak can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service, specifically by consuming memory. The exploitation is possible by triggering usb submit urb() failures.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 5.3.11, update to version 5.3.11 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the gs can open() function to minimize the risk of exploitation.
