CVE-2019-19049

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 5.3.10
Description A memory leak in the unittest data add() function in drivers/of/unittest.c allows attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) by triggering of fdt unflatten tree() failures. The relevance of this issue is disputed by third parties because unittest.c can only be reached during boot.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 5.3.10, update to version 5.3.10 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the unittest data add() function until a patch is available.
