Description
The issue is related to a memory leak in the
fastrpc dma buf attach() function, which can cause a denial of service due to memory consumption. This can be triggered by causing dma get sgtable() failures. The vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 5.3.9, update to version 5.3.9 or later to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
fastrpc dma buf attach() function until a patch is available.Fix
