CVSS v2.0

4.9

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions through 5.3.11
Description A memory leak in the rtl8xxxu submit int urb() function allows attackers to cause a denial of service by triggering usb submit urb() failures. This issue is related to uncontrolled resource consumption and can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions through 5.3.11, consider disabling the rtl8xxxu submit int urb() function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable rtl8xxxu core.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
