Description
A memory leak in the
rtl8xxxu submit int urb() function allows attackers to cause a denial of service by triggering usb submit urb() failures. This issue is related to uncontrolled resource consumption and can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions through 5.3.11, consider disabling the
rtl8xxxu submit int urb() function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the vulnerable rtl8xxxu core.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.DoS
