CVE-2019-19059

CVSS v3.1

4.7

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 5.3.11
Description The issue is related to the iwl pcie ctxt info gen3 init() function in the Linux kernel, which is associated with uncontrolled resource consumption. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service, specifically through memory consumption, by triggering failures in iwl pcie init fw sec() or dma alloc coherent().
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 5.3.11, update to version 5.3.11 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the iwl pcie ctxt info gen3 init() function to minimize the risk of exploitation.
