Description
The issue is related to a code injection vulnerability in the EPSetup.exe file of McAfee Endpoint Security. This vulnerability allows a local user to inject malicious code into the installer, potentially enabling the installation of malicious code by the ENS installer. The exploitation of this vulnerability may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 10.6.1 October 2019 Update, update to the October 2019 Update or a later version to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the EPSetup.exe file to minimize the risk of exploitation.
