Description
The issue is related to the use of the
assert() function or a similar operator in the printer's firmware. Exploitation of this issue may allow an attacker to cause a denial of service or gain unauthorized access to protected information by using a specially crafted file. A maliciously crafted print file might cause certain HP Inkjet printers to assert, potentially resulting in a core dump to a local device under certain circumstances.Recommendations
